There is more to do & see in the area

Welcome to the Krimpenerwaard! In the surrounding area of the farm, there is more than enough to keep you busy. By bike, by foot or with the car. Great biking paths/routes for all age groups, various walking routes, visits to Schoonhoven with her rich history and many silver craftsmen and maybe the unexpectedly beautiful museums in both Haastrecht and Krimpen aan den IJssel. There are many nature parks with playgrounds and the lowlands “polders” offer natural playfields with plants and fauna galore. Eateries enough, too many to even attempt visiting them all. The Krimpenerwaard wants you spoiled for choice!

Take a folder with you

Since the Spring of 2014 our farm is a designated “Host of the Krimpenerwaard”. Together with some 25 fellow entrepreneurs from the Krimpenerwaard, we are ambassadors of the landscape in this region. We have handout folders and walking & biking routes for the whole Krimpenerwaard available in the farm shop. The KoeKaas (Cow/Cheese) bike route even runs past our farm!

Recommendations in the area

There are a number op hotpots well worth considering. Pay a visit to Gouda, Kinderdijk (19 windmills) or Rotterdam. You should also add Oudewater with her Heksenwaag (Witch Weighting Hall) to your list. Peruse the website “In de Krimpenerwaard”, where all interesting events, the hidden gems and other worthwhile activities within the county borders have been clearly listed in an overview for you.

Contemplating an overnight stay?

Our calves graze on our farms in Stolwijk and Gouderak. In additional to rearing young cattle, both locations also have recreational activities on their farms.

The Farm Camping “Vreede is Rijkdom” is located on the Beijersche Weg in Stolwijk (www.boerencampingstolwijk.nl) and in Gouderak you will find the Bed & Breakfast De Appelgaard (www.deappelgaard-gouderak.nl}. Naturally we are happy to recommend both establishments!
You can also spend the night in Bergambacht. They have a number of B&B’s, there is even one on our road! You could reserve a room at Bij Margo, located at Zuidbroek 135 or at Gastenverblijf De Parelhoen, at Zuidbroek 138.
We are speaking from experience when we say that it is wonderful to sleep in the polder!
